Yoga class

Every Thursday

6:00pm to 7:00pm

Yoga: Yoga is one of the most ancient cultural heritages of India. The word yoga in Sanskrit means "to unite", and so yoga can be said to connote a unitive discipline. In this sense, it is an exercise in moral and mental cultivation that promotes good health (arogya), contributes to longevity (chirayu), happiness and peace.

Vinyasa (Flow) Yoga: Vinyasa Yoga is a style of yoga characterized by a gentle succession of asanas (poses) linking breath to each movement in a smooth flow. Vinyasa Yoga is a branch of Ashtanga Yoga developed by Sri Krishnamacharya who taught it to Sri Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India, in the first half of the 20th century. This form of Ashtanga has since been popularized in the West by his students. The benefits of Vinyasa Yoga are many. A vinyasa flow practice helps in flexibility, strength and balance, improved posture, emotional stability, relaxing and calming of the mind

Instructor: Mrs. Anjali Sharma, Mrs. Sharma earned her Vinyasa Yoga Trainer Certificate in 2016. Mrs. Sharma taught at Greater Rochester gyms, and at home/on-line for students across the globe. Mrs. Anjali practices gentle Vinyasa flow and believes in leading the class gently through basic verbal cues, so students can perform the asanas at their own pace and comfort
